KEARNEY – The 27th Annual Nebraska Rod and Custom Association Tour Nebraska driving event will be coming up this weekend. They will begin the journey in Kearney. It will be a road tour of 420 classic, antique and special interest vehicles. The tour route this year will go near 30 towns and villages including Holdrege, Red Cloud, Arapahoe, Funk, Minden, and Franklin. Brad Kernick, the local tour coordinator, says that this is like a car show that’s on the move.
We will have, approximately, 420 vehicles. And, over the course of two days, we’ll go 600 miles. And it’s pretty cool to see 420 cars in a row. And these all have to be at least 30 years. So it’s pretty cool for people who enjoy classic cars. It’s just neat.
The goal of the Nebraska Rod and Custom Association is to protect the rights of special interest vehicle owners who enjoy driving them on the streets and highways of Nebraska. It is a goodwill tour and all of the events are free open to the public. You can check out the route and get more information at nrca.wildapricot.org.
