HASTINGS – The City of Hastings received a $25,400 grant from AARP at Monday’s City Council Meeting. Connie Benjamin, the AARP State Director for Nebraska, says this grant is for increasing livable communities for people of all ages.
In this particular one, the focus was on improving places in the community, housing, transportation, etc. AARP ended up awarding 1.6 million dollars nationally. There were nearly 1700 applications nationally. So you should be very pleased to know you are one of 1159 entities, communities, across the country that are receiving this.
She went on to compliment Hastings on the great work they do. The other awardee in the state of Nebraska was Grand Island.
