Katy and Orlando’s wedding: His son will "be an important part of it"

It’s been over a month since Orlando Bloom put a ring on it, but so far, he and Katy Perry don’t have a wedding date. However, a source tells People that the couple is “slowly planning” the big event.

“Their past weddings were, of course, very different,” dishes the source. “They are trying to find a middle ground now.”

The source was referring to the fact that Orlando married his former wife Miranda Kerr in 2010, in an intimate ceremony, while Katy wed comedian Russell Brand that same year in an extravagant ceremony in India.

“Orlando always shied away from anything flashy,” the source tells People. “He doesn’t want a huge, celebrity wedding. But they also have many friends that are important to them. They are still figuring out the details. Katy will work with a planner.”

But the source says that no matter what kind of ceremony the two stars decide on, Orlando’s eight-year-old son Flynn, who he shares with Kerr, will “definitely be an important part” of it.

Katy and Orlando are currently living together in her house, an arrangement that the source says Kerr is fine with.

“Miranda knows Katy and the two get along,” the source says. “Miranda doesn’t have an issue with Flynn being at Katy’s house when Orlando has custody. Everyone is getting along great.”
