City Council Approves Brickyard Park Amphitheater Renovation, Lifehouse Church Move

HASTINGS – The Hastings City Council approved renovations to the Brickyard Park Amphitheater 7-0 at Monday’s meeting.

Jeff Hassenstab, the Director of the Hastings Parks and Recreation, says that these renovations were much needed.

Brickyard Park Amphitheater seating bowl project was identified as a high priority due to the concretes poor condition in the seating bowl. The renovation project will consist of the  redesign of the seating bowl, ADA accessibility down to the stage, new 8 foot sidewalk, and additional lawn seating, while keeping the permanent bench seats out there.

The money used for this renovation will come from the half cent sales tax.

Also approved at the meeting was the request from Lifehouse Church for a conditional use permit to use the property at 2850 Osborne Drive East as their new location.

They had been forced to move out of the Imperial Mall at the end of last month.
