HASTINGS – The Hastings Parks and Recreation has a city wide Easter egg hunt every year at Brickyard Park. But this year the dogs can get in on the hunt.
On Saturday, April 13 parks and recreation will have their Easter egg hunt in the afternoon and the new Easter dog bone hunt in the morning.
Ryan Martin, the recreation superintendent, says this will be a fun event and they will split the dogs into groups based on their weight.
If you have a dog under 30 pounds you can come from 10:30 to 11:00. And then dogs over 30 pounds will be from 11:15 to 11:45. So they’ll each get about a half hour to hunt up the bones. And we’ll also have an Easter Bunny there for the pet owners to take a picture. A photo op with the Easter Bunny. And it should be a good time.
The bone hunt will be at the Hastings Dog Park. Martin says that people can take their dogs to the bone hunt then go home, have lunch and then go to Brickyard Park for the Easter egg hunt at 2.
Both events are free and open to the public.
