HASTINGS – Give Hastings Day is tomorrow and there are 84 different non-profit organizations that you can donate to in Adams County.
Those non-profits will be divided up into categories ranging from animals to armed forces, and health to human services, and many others, on givehastings.org. So that way you can find organizations that relate to a category you find appealing.
Amy Sandeen, who is on the Give Hastings Day Committee, says that donating online is an easy way to give.
Online, you can also do it like a shopping cart. So you can give a certain amount to multiple organizations and check out all at once. So it’s a really easy way to go. And every donation counts. Ten dollars is the minimum. And non-profits get incentives, the more donors that give. So it’s as much about the individual donors as it is about the amount. So people are encouraged to give even a little bit and it really strengthens the whole day and the whole community.
Early giving has already begun at givehastings.org.
You can also drop off checks in person at the Hastings Community Foundation which is located on the second floor of the Heritage Bank Building at 800 West 3rd Street in downtown Hastings.
The goal this year is to raise $500,000.
