Harvestfest is Sunday at Prairie Loft Center

HASTINGS – HarvestFest will be this Sunday at the Prairie Loft Center from 1:00 to 6:00. There will be food trucks, art vendors, wagon rides, farm animals, and a lot more activities and events.

Amy Sandeen, the Executive Director of the Prairie Loft Center, says that they have more collaborative partners this year than ever before.

And we’re so grateful to people for doing that. Because we can offer quite a few activities on our own. But we’re bringing in FFA, and 4H, and some bird experts, mealworm experts, some Hastings College Students, the Platte Valley Antique Machinery Association, some partner organizations around town with tractors and modern farm equipment.

HarvestFest will be free and open to the public. Sandeen also said that it’s important to support agriculture and learn about it and have fun while learning as well. They’ll have bird walks, bilingual story time, interactive learning on mealworms, sheep shearing demos, and many other eventsl.

They also need some volunteers as well. If you want to volunteer to help set up on Saturday afternoon or be involved on Sunday, you can go to the Prairie Loft Facebook page or call 402-463-0565. And you can get more information at PrairieLoft.org.
