HASTINGS – Husker Harvest Days is getting underway today and continuing through Thursday in Wood River. It will be happening just west of Grand Island in Wood River at 9000 Husker Highway.
It will run from 8:00am to 5:00pm today and tomorrow and 8:00am to 4:00pm on Thursday. Admission for adults is $15 and high school students get in for $8 and anyone under the age of 12 get in for free.
Matt Jungmann, the show director, says that we have to put a rough 2019 behind us and look ahead to 2020.
You know that’s what we hope folks will do is come out, get a break from all of the bad things happening in agriculture. And come out and celebrate agriculture. Get a day away from the farm before we have to deal with harvesting this ‘19 crop. And start to get motivated and excited about next year already.
There will be plenty of exhibits and events happening throughout the three days. They’ll have demonstrations for things like dog herding and cattle handling.
Seminars will be happening too, such as a talk on the beef business in an era of uncertainty headed up by the Editor of BEEF Magazine, Burt Rutherford.
