The 5th ranked Nebraska volleyball team got back on the winning track with a three game sweep of Indiana last night at the Bob Devaney Sports Center. The Huskers won the match 25-13, 30-28, 25-11. Nebraska rebounded from their first Big Ten loss of the season to Minnesota on Saturday by stifling Indiana to .094 hitting in the match. Lexi Sun had 11 kills, nine digs and four blocks for the Huskers. Jazz Sweet had 11 kills while Mikaela Foecke added 10. Nebraska is now 15-2 on the season, 6-1 in the conference. They’ll play at Penn State on Saturday beginning at 7:00pm. We’ll have it on “The Breeze,” KLIQ 94.5FM beginning with the pre-game show at 6:30pm.

The 14th ranked Hastings College volleyball team swept Concordia last night in Seward. The scores were 25-13, 26-24, 28-26. Sage Meyer led the Broncos with 18 kills and 12 digs. Hastings is now 13-5, 8-3 in the conference. They’ll play at Briar Cliff on Saturday.
The Hastings College women’s soccer team beat the College of St. Mary’s 6-2 last night in Omaha. The Broncos are now 9-0-2, 6-0-1 in the conference. They’ll also play at Briar Cliff on Saturday.
Hastings High will play Elkhorn today in the second round of the state high school softball tournament at the Smith Complex. The Tigers beat Crete 6-2 yesterday. Kaelan Schultz doubled, homered and finished with two rbi’s for Hastings. Sophia Cerveny also had three hits. Ellie McCoy hit her 24th home run of the season. Hastings is now 27-12 on the season. Gametime will be at 12:30pm. We’ll have it on 1230AM KHAS beginning with the pre-game show at 12:20pm. In the other games yesterday, Elkhorn got by North Platte 5-4, Beatrice shutout Blair 8-0 in five innings and Omaha Skutt knocked off Omaha Gross 7-3.
The Class A winners yesterday were Papillion LaVista, Millard West, Millard South and Gretna. The Class C winners were Wayne, Bishop Neumann, Centennial and Arlington. Action gets underway at 10:00am this morning.
Doniphan/Trumbull and St. Paul will play in the championship game of the Lou Platte Conference volleyball tournament tonight. The Cardinals beat Centura in the semi-finals on Tuesday while the Wildcats downed Wood River. The consolation game will be at 6:00pm with the championship game to follow at 7:30pm.
