The Nebraska football team will play at Purdue tomorrow. The Huskers are 4-4 on the season, 2-3 in the Big Ten Conference. The Boilermakers are 2-6, 1-4 in the conference. Purdue will come into the game averaging 301.2 passing yards per game, while completing 60 percent of its pass attempts. Kickoff will be at 11:00am. The Nebraska volleyball team will play host to Rutgers tonight and Penn State tomorrow. The Huskers are 16-3 on the season, 8-2 in the conference after losing to Purdue last Saturday. The Nebraska women’s basketball team will play an exhibition game against Rogers State tomorrow at Pinnacle Bank Arena. Tip-off will be at 4:00pm. The Huskers will open the season on Wednesday at home against Alabama A & M. The Nebraska men’s basketball team will open the season on Tuesday against UC-Riverside. Tip-off will be at 8:00pm.
The Hastings College women’s basketball team is now 2-0 on the season after beating Peru State 87-60 last night at Lynn Farrell Arena. Shandra Farmer led the way with 20 points, Kaitlyn Schmit had 13, Taylor Beacom had 12 and Sophia Pankratz had 11. The Broncos led at halftime 48-31 and stretched the lead to 32 in the fourth quarter. Hastings will play host to Kansas Wesleyan on Saturday beginning at 7:00pm. We’ll have it on 1230AM KHAS beginning with the pre-game show at 6:45pm.
The Hastings College men’s basketball team will play in the Cattle Classic in Seward this weekend. The Broncos will play Benedictine College at 3:00pm this afternoon and Dickinson State on Saturday at noon.

In the state high school football playoffs last night, Kenesaw beat Anselmo Merna 52-14. Tyson Denkert threw for 146 yards and rushed for 137 yards for the Blue Devils. In the other games, Bruning Davenport Shickley beat Guardian Angels Central Catholic 42-20, Arcadia Loup City blew out Alma 68-32, Garden County rolled past Blue Hill 52-6 and Lawrence Nelson beat Allen 48-24,

In some of the other games, Alliance will play at Northwest, Kearney Catholic will battle Broken Bow at Cozad, Superior will play Johnson County Central at Fairbury, Grand Island Central Catholic will face Lourdes Central Catholic at Centennial, Kenesaw will play Diller Odell at Fillmore Central, Lawrence Nelson play Cody Kilgore at Maxwell.
NFL> In the NFL last night, San Francisco got by Arizona 28-25. Jimmy Garoppolo threw for 317 yards and four touchdowns for the Niners.
Denver Broncos quarterback Joe Flacco will be sidelined for 4 to 6 weeks with a neck injury. Flacco has been sacked 26 times in eight games this year, the third most in the NFL. In Flacco’s absence, the team will turn to Brandon Allen as their starting quarterback. The 27 year old played college football at Arkansas.
Longtime St. Louis Cardinals manager Mike Matheny has been named the new manager of the Kansas City Royals. Matheny spent seven seasons in St. Louis compiling a record of 591-474. He had been working as a special adviser for player development for the Royals since November of 2018.
