Nebraska is up two spots to number six in the latest AVCA Coaches Poll. The Huskers are 18-6 on the season after picking up wins over Penn State and Rutgers over the weekend. BYU is still ranked number one followed by Stanford, Minnesota, Illinois and Texas. Rounding out the top ten are Nebraska, Penn State, Wisconsin, Creighton and Pittsburgh. Nebraska will play at Iowa on Wednesday. First serve will be at 7:00pm. We’ll have it on “The Breeze” KLIQ 94.5FM beginning with the pre-game show at 6:30pm.

Nebraska-Kearney remains number three in the Division II Poll. The Lopers are 30-2. Cal State San Bernardino is ranked number one. UNK will play Missouri Western State tonight in the first round of the MIAA Tournament. First serve will be at 6:00pm at the Health and Sports Center.

Morningside is ranked number one in the latest NAIA Football Coaches Top 25 Poll. The Mustangs are 10-0 on the season after last weeks 63-21 victory over Dordt. Northwestern is ranked number fifth.

The Hastings College men’s basketball team held on to beat Sterling College 90-82 in their home opener last night. The Broncos built an early 17 point lead, but the Warriors chipped away and trailed by just four with eight minutes to play. They couldn’t get any closer than that. The Broncos hit only 34 percent of their field goals in the second half, including 2 of 17 from behind the arc. Bart Hiscock led the way with 27 points, Zach Kitten had 14, Kevin Miller had 12 and Shane Chamberlain and Logan Cale had 10 points apiece. Hastings is now 4-1 on the season and will open the conference season tomorrow night against Doane.

The Hastings College men’s soccer team will play Concordia tonight in the semifinals of the GPAC Tournament. Game time will be at 7:00pm at Lloyd Wilson Field. In the other game, Briar Cliff will play at Morningside. The finals are set for Friday.

The Hastings College volleyball team will play at Northwestern tomorrow in the semifinals of the GPAC Tournament. First serve will be at 7:00pm. In the other game, Midland is at Dordt.

The Nebraska men’s basketball team will open the season against Mississippi Valley State tonight. The Delta Devils finished 4-28 last season. Tip-off will be at 7:00pm. We’ll have it on 1230AM KHAS beginning with the pre-game show at 6:04pm.

The season is over for the Nebraska women’s soccer team. The Huskers were not selected to the 64 team NCAA Tournament. Nebraska finishes the season 9-7-5, 5-3-3 in the Big Ten Conference. Six teams from the Big Ten will play in the tournament including Wisconsin, Ohio State, Penn State, Minnesota, Northwestern and Rutgers.

The State high school football playoffs will continue tonight. Kenesaw will play host to Lawrence Nelson. The Blue Devils beat the Raiders during the regular season 60-12. Kickoff will be at 6:00pm.
