The Nebraska men’s basketball team beat Wayne State 75-40 last night in an exhibition game at Pinnacle Bank Arena. Isaiah Robey had 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Huskers. James Palmer had 10 points. Nebraska held Wayne State to just 23 percent shooting in the game. Nebraska will open the season on Tuesday at home against Mississippi Valley State.

Noah Vederal is now the number two quarterback at Nebraska. Vederal transferred from Central Florida with Husker head coach Scott Frost and was declared eligible by the NCAA two weeks ago. Andrew Bunch will be the number three quarterback. Nebraska will play at Ohio State tomorrow. Kickoff will be at 11:00am. Pre-game coverage begins at 6:00am on “The Breeze,” KLIQ 94.5FM.

The 8th ranked Nebraska volleyball team is back at home this weekend for a pair of matches at the Bob Devaney Sports Center. The Huskers will host 7th ranked Penn State tonight at 7:00pm. We’ll have the match on ESPN 1550 KICS beginning at 6:30pm. Tomorrow night, Nebraska will play Rutgers at 7:00pm. Pre-game show begins at 6:30pm on “The Breeze,” KLIQ 94.5FM.

The Hastings College men’s soccer team beat Doane 7-0 last night in the quarterfinals of the GPAC Tournament. The Broncos are now 15-2 on the season and will play Concordia in the semifinals on Tuesday. The Bulldogs advanced with a win over Midland. In the other games, Briar Cliff beat Northwestern 2-1 in overtime and Morningside shut out Jamestown 2-0.

The women’s semi-finals are set for tomorrow night. Briar Cliff will play at Hastings beginning at 6:00pm at Lloyd Wilson Field. In the other game, Concordia will play at Midland.

The Hastings College volleyball team will play Morningside in the first round of the GPAC Tournament tomorrow. First serve will be at 7:00pm. The football team will host Jamestown beginning at 1:00pm. Pre-game show begins at noon on 1230AM KHAS. The men’s basketball team will play Barclay College tonight in the Concordia Invite. The women’s basketball team is at Haskell Indian Nations University.

The Nebraska-Kearney football team will host Missouri Western State tomorrow. Kickoff will be at 11:00am. The volleyball team will host Missouri Western State tonight and Northwest Missouri State tomorrow night.

The state high school football playoffs continue today. We’ll have two games on 1230AM KHAS. Harvard will play at Cody Kilgore beginning at 1:50pm this afternoon followed by Adams Central at Wahoo at 6:45pm. Tonight on “The Breeze,” KLIQ 94.5FM, Sutton is at Aquinas Catholic. Pre-game at 6:30pm with the kickoff at 7:00pm. On Power 99 tonight, McCool Junction is at Wilcox-Hildreth. Pre-game begins at 5:30pm. Kickoff at 6:00pm.
