LSU is ranked number one in the latest AP College Football Poll.  Ohio State is second followed by Clemson, Georgia and Alabama.  Rounding out the top ten are Utah, Oklahoma, Florida, Minnesota and Michigan.


Nebraska is now 5-6 on the season, 3-5 in the Big Ten Conference after Saturday’s 54-7 win at Maryland.  JD Spielman caught seven passes for 104 yards and two touchdowns for the Huskers while Adrian Martinez compiled 288 yards of total offense. The Nebraska defense held Maryland to just 206 yards in the game and recorded a season high six sacks.  Nebraska will conclude the regular season on Friday with a game against Iowa.  Kickoff will be at 1:30pm.  Pre-game coverage begins at 8:30am on “The Breeze,” KLIQ 94.5FM.


The 6th ranked Nebraska volleyball team fell to 5th ranked Wisconsin on Saturday in Madison.  The scores were 19-25, 22-25, 21-25.  Lexi Sun had 16 kills for the Huskers.  Nebraska is now 23-4, 15-3 in the conference.  They’ll play host to Maryland and Ohio State this weekend.


Nebraska outscored Creighton 46-10 in the paint, but the Jays knocked down 14 three pointers in a 79-74 win over the Nebraska women’s basketball team yesterday at Pinnacle Bank Arena.  Kate Cain led three Huskers in double figures with 18 points, seven rebounds and three blocked shots.  Nebraska is now 5-1 on the season and will play USC on Friday in the South Point Shootout in Las Vegas.


The Nebraska men’s basketball team will play Washington State tonight in the Cayman Islands Classic.  The Huskers are 2-2 on the season after Friday’s 93-86 overtime victory over Southern. The Cougars are 2-2.  Tip-off will be at 6:30pm.  Pre-game show begins at 5:30pm on KHAS 1230AM and “The Breeze” KLIQ 94.5FM.


The Hastings College men’s soccer team will play in the round of 16 at the NAIA National Soccer Tournament.  The Broncos beat William Penn 4-1 in a shootout to advance.  Hastings will play #3 seed Westmont of California on Monday December 2nd in Irving California.


The Hastings College women’s soccer team lost to Marian of Indiana 2-0 on Saturday in the NAIA National Soccer Tournament.  The Broncos end the season 17-5.


The Hastings College basketball teams played at Morningside on Saturday.  The women improved to 7-0 on the season with a 76-69 win.Gabby Grasso led the way with 19 points and 11 rebounds.   The men lost to Mustangs 95-77. Bart Hiscock had 15 points for the Broncos. Hastings is 5-3 on the season.  Both teams will play host to Midland on Tuesday.  The women’s game will be at 6:00pm with the men to follow at 8:00pm.  We’ll have the action on 1230AM KHAS beginning with the pre-game show at 5:45pm.


The second ranked Nebraska-Kearney volleyball team won the MIAA Tournament for the fourth straight season with a win over Central Missouri on Saturday.  The scores were 19-25, 25-23, 25-21, 25-14. Julianne Jackson had 17 kills for the Lopers.  UNK is now 33-0 and will play in the NCAA Tournament Central Regional beginning December 5th.


The Nebraska-Kearney women’s basketball team set a new school record for margin of victory in a 110-22 win over Nebraska Christian College on Saturday afternoon at the Health and Sports Center.  The Lopers hit 59 percent of their shots in the game and buried 15 three pointers, the second most in school history.  Madison Dreckman had 20 points and 10 rebounds for the Lopers.  UNK is now 6-0.


The Nebraska-Kearney men’s basketball team beat South Dakota Mines 63-62 on Friday.  UNK is now 3-3 and will host Wayne State on Tuesday at 7:30pm.  The UNK women will host Central Christian College of Kansas in the first game at 5:30pm.


State championship football games will be played today at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln. In the first game at 10:15am, it’s the Class D1 title game between Osceola High Plains and Burwell. That will be followed by the Class D2 championship game between Pleasanton and Humphrey St. Francis at 2:45pm.  We’ll have it on Power 99 KKPR and ESPN TRI Cities beginning with the pre-game show at 2:15pm.  At 7:15pm tonight, it’s the Class B title game between Scottsbluff and Omaha Skutt.  Three more games are on tap for tomorrow.  In the six-man championship Friday night, Harvard beat McCool Junction 50-33.  Its the first state championship for Harvard.


NFL> In the late NFL game last night, San Francisco beat Green Bay 37-8. Tonight, you get Baltimore at the Los Angeles Rams beginning at 7:15pm.  We’ll have it on ESPN Tri Cities beginning at 6:30pm.
