Alabama is still ranked number one in the latest AP College Football Poll. The Crimson Tide are now 12-0 on the season after Saturday’s 52-21 win over Auburn. Clemson is second followed by Notre Dame, Georgia and Oklahoma. Rounding out the top ten are Ohio State, Central Florida, Michigan, Texas and Washington.
The Nebraska volleyball team was selected as the number seven overall seed for the NCAA Tournament and will host first and second round games this weekend. The Huskers will play Hofstra in the opening round Friday night at 7:00pm. The other game at 4:30pm will pit Missouri and Arizona. The two winners will play Saturday at 7:00pm. The Huskers are making their 37th straight NCAA Tournament appearance. Hofstra is 25-7 and champions of the Colonial Athletic Association. Creighton also made the tournament. The Jays will host South Dakota in the opening round.
The Nebraska men’s basketball team will play at Clemson tonight in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Both teams are 5-1 on the season. Nebraska will be looking for its third road win in the challenge under head coach Tim Miles. They beat Wake Forest in 2012 and Florida State in 2014 before falling 60-58 at Clemson in 2016. Tip-off will be at 6:00pm. We’ll have it on 1230AM KHAS and “The Breeze,” KLIQ 94.5FM beginning with the pre-game show at 5:00pm.
The Nebraska women’s basketball team went 1-1 in the Miami Thanksgiving Classic. The Huskers lost to Miami 82-68 on Friday and beat Radford 77-39 on Sunday. The Huskers are now 2-3 on the season and will play Louisville on Thursday in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
The Hastings College women’s basketball team went 2-0 in the C3 Hotel Thanksgiving Classic. The Broncos beat Aquinas College of Michigan 76-61 and Haskell Indian Nations University 73-52. Hastings will play at Midland on Wednesday.
The Hastings College women’s soccer team will play Keiser University of Florida today in the second round of the NAIA National Championships in Orange Beach Alabama. The Broncos are 17-0-3 on the season. Game time will be at 10:00am.
The Hastings College volleyball team will open pool play in the NAIA National Championships in Sioux City tomorrow. The Broncos will face Ottawa of Kansas on Tuesday, Trinity Christian on Wednesday and Missouri Baptist on Thursday.
The Nebraska-Kearney women’s basketball team went 2-0 in the Crossover Tournament over the weekend. The Lopers beat Chadron State 72-52 and Colorado-Colorado Springs 61-45. UNK is now 4-2 and will host Manhattan Christian on Wednesday.
