Despite dropping a match to Wisconsin on Saturday night, the Nebraska volleyball team remains number six in the latest AVCA Coaches Poll. The Huskers are 23-4 on the season. Baylor is ranked number one followed by Pittsburgh, Stanford, Texas and Wisconsin. Rounding out the top ten are Nebraska, Penn State, Minnesota, Washington and Creighton.

Nebraska-Kearney is still number two in the Division II Poll. The Lopers are 33-0 on the season. Cal State San Bernardino is ranked number one.

Nebraska-Kearney is in the NCAA Tournament for a 21st straight season and will battle Oklahoma Baptists University in the first round of the Central Regional on Thursday December 5th at the Health and Sports Center. This is the seventh time in school history that UNK has hosted an NCAA Regional. Other teams in the regional include Minnesota-Deluth, Concordia-St. Paul, Northern State, St. Cloud State, Washburn and Central Missouri.

Haanif Cheatham scored 19 points and Jervay Green scored 14 as the Nebraska men’s basketball team pulled away for an 82-71 win over Washington State in the Cayman Islands Classic last night. Cheatham and Green combined for 26 points in the second half. Dachon Burke and Kevin Cross added 14 points apiece and Cam Mack had 10 with eight rebounds, six assists and three steals for the Huskers. The Cougars hit only 32 percent of their shots in the second half, while the Husker connected on 64 percent of their shots including 5 of 7 three pointers. Nebraska is 3-2 on the season and will play George Mason tonight at 6:30pm. We’ll have the game on 1230AM KHAS beginning with the pre-game show at 5:30pm.

Due to projected bad weather for today, the Hastings College men’s and women’s basketball games against Midland have been moved to Wednesday. The women will play at noon with the men to follow at 2:00pm. We’ll have coverage on 1230AM KHAS beginning with the pre-game show at 11:45am.

Omaha Skutt stopped a two point conversion try with 2:35 to play in the game last night to beat Scottsbluff 21-20 in the Class B State Championship game at Memorial Stadium. It’s the second straight year the Skyhawks beat the Bearcats for the championship. In the other games yesterday, Osceola High Plains held off Burwell 40-34 to win the Class D-1 title and Humphrey St. Francis beat Pleasanton 70-16 to win the Class D-2 crown. Three more games are on tap today, at 10:15am it’s the Class C-1 state championship game between Wahoo and Pierce followed by the Class C-2 battle between Sutton and Oakland Craig. We’ll have it on “The Breeze,,” KLIQ 94.5FM and ESPN Tri Cities beginning at 2:15pm. At 7:15pm tonight, it’s the Class A game between Bellevue West and Omaha Westside.

NFL> In the NFL last night, Baltimore beat the Los Angeles Rams 45-6. Lamar Jackson matched his career high with five touchdown passes and ran for 95 yards.

BB> Duke remains number one in the latest AP Men’s College Basketball Poll. The Blue Devils are 6-0 on the season. Louisville is ranked number two followed by Michigan State, Kansas and Maryland. Rounding out the top ten are North Carolina, Virginia, Gonzaga, Kentucky and Ohio State.

Oregon is on top of the women’s poll. Baylor is second followed by Stanford, UConn and South Carolina.
