Nebraska has moved up one spot to number seven in the latest AVCA Coaches Poll. The Huskers are 18-3 on the season. Texas is ranked number one followed by Pittsburgh, Baylor, Wisconsin and Stanford. Rounding out the top ten are Minnesota, Nebraska, Penn State, Creighton and Marquette. Nebraska will play host to Northwestern on Wednesday night.

Nebraska-Kearney is number two in the Division II poll. The Lopers are 26-0 on the season. Cal State San Bernardino is ranked number one. UNK will play at Fort Hays State tonight. First serve will be 6:00pm.

Nebraska freshman Libero Kenzie Knuckles has been named the Co-Defensive Player of the Week in the Big Ten Conference. Knuckles averaged five digs per set in win over Rutgers and Penn State over the weekend.

The Nebraska men’s basketball team will open the season tonight agaianst UC Riverside at Pinnacle Bank Areana. The Huskers finished 19-17 last year, but have a totally new roster under first year head coach Fred Hoiberg. The Highlanders were 10-23 last year. Tip-off will be at 8:00pm. We’ll have it on 1230AM KHAS and “The Breeze,” KLIQ 94.5FM beginning with pre-game coverage at 7:04pm.

The Nebraska women’s basketball team will open the season tomorrow against Alabama A & M. The Huskers beat Rogers State 97-33 in an exhibition game on Saturday. Tip-off will be at noon. We’ll have it on 1230AM KHAS beginning with the pre-game show at 11:45am.

The Hastings College men’s basketball team went on the road last night and beat Sterling College of Kansas 108-74. The Broncos hit 60 percent of their field goals in the game, including 9 of 16 from three point range. Bart Hiscock led the way with 26 points, Brendan Lipovsky had 15 and Evan Tricker had 12. Hastings is now 4-1 on the season and will open the conference season next Wednesday at Doane.

The Hastings College women’s basketball team will play at Bethel College of Kansas tonight. The Broncos are 3-0 on the season. Bethel is 2-1. Tip-off will be at 7:00pm in North Newton, Kansas.

Morningside is still ranked number one in the latest NAIA Football Coaches Top 25 Poll. The Mustangs are 8-0 on the season after Saturday’s 42-10 win over Doane. Northwestern is still ranked number five. Hastings will play at Northwestern on Saturday. Kickoff will be at 1:00pm. Pre-game coverage begins at noon on 1230AM KHAS.

NFL> In the NFl last night, Dallas beat the New York Giants 37-18. Dak Prescott shook off an interception on his first pass of the game and threw for three touchdowns. Ezekiel Elliot ran for a season high 139 yards. The Cowboys are now 5-3. The Giants fall to 2-7.

BB> Michigan State is favored to win the NCAA Men’s College Basketball Championship this year. The Spartans are listed as an 11-2 favrite at Caesars Sportsbook in Las Vegas. Kansas and Kentucky are the second choice at 6-1, Memphis is 8-1, Duke and Louisville are 10-1 and North Carolina is 13-1.
