Nebraska head football coach Scott Frost has announced the rosters for Saturday’s spring game. Starting quarterback Adrian Martinez will be on the Red team along with quarterback Noah Vedral, defensive back Lamar Jackson and running back Brody Belt. The White team will be led by quarterback Andrew Bunch along with quarterback Matt Masker, running back Jaylin Bradley and defensive lineman Damian Jackson. Quarterback Luke McCaffrey is listed on both rosters. Fifteen players will miss the game including running back Maurice Washington, inside linebacker Will Honas, wide receiver Wan’dale Robinson and wide receiver JD Spielman. Saturday’s game gets underway at 1:00pm. We’ll have coverage on “The Breeze,” KLIQ 94.5FM beginning at 11:00am.

Running back Maurice Washington was formally arraigned yesterday during a court appearance in Santa Clara County, California. Washington is facing two charges stemming from an incident in which he allegedly sent a sexually explicit video of an underage girl, a former high school girl friend of his, to her with a message “Remember this hoe.” Washington pled “not guilty.” His next court appearance is set for May 13th.

Nebraska men’s basketball coach Fred Hoiberg is reportedly considering a handful of people for his two remaining assistant coaching positions. The list includes former Nebraska coach Doc Sadler and former Nebraska assistant coaches Armon Gates and Jim Molinari.

Former Nebraska standout Jessica Shepard was the fourth pick of the second round in last nights WNBA Draft, going to the Minnesota Lynx. Shepard transferred to Notre Dame after her sophomore season. She averaged 16.7 points and 10.3 rebounds per game in her senior season with the Irish.

The Nebraska bowling team will play in the NCAA National Championship this week in Wickliffe, Ohio. The Huskers are playing in the tournament for the 16th straight season. They made it to the championship match in four of the last five seasons, winning the title in 2013 and 2015, in addition to wining championships in 2004, 2005 and 2009. The other teams competing will be Vanderbilt, McKendree, Sam Houston State, Sacred Heart, Arkansas State, Stephen F. Austin and Maryland Eastern Shore.

Nebraska volleyball assistant Kayla Banwarth received the AVCA Thirty Under 30 Award yesterday. The award was created to honor 30 up and coming coaches under 30 years old at all levels of the sport. Banwarth has been on the Husker staff since 2017.

Brandon Roe of the Nebraska Danger has been named the Defensive Player of the Week in the IFL. Roe had three interceptions Saturday as the Danger upset the Tucson Sugar Skulls 53-47. The Danger is 3-3 on the season.

Seattle beat the Kansas City Royals 6-5 last night. The Royals have now lost nine straight. The same two teams will play at 12:15pm this afternoon. We’ll have it on “The Breeze,” KLIQ 94.5FM beginning at 11:30am.
