Nebraska Baseball’s season came to an end in the NCAA Regionals Sunday with a 16-1 loss to UConn. After 7 innings the score was 5-1. UConn added four runs on four hits in the top of the eighth to take a 9-1 lead. The Huskies scored seven runs on six hits in the 9th to extend their lead to 16-1. The Huskers seemed to play without much of a spark on Sunday after losing to Oklahoma State on Saturday night. In that game the Huskers were leading 5-2 after 8 innings. Nebraska gave up 4 runs, including a 3-run home run to surrender the lead and lose 6-5. The Huskers end the season with a final record of 32-24.

The University of Nebraska Omaha baseball program concluded its 2019 season with a 24-6 loss against Baylor in the NCAA Los Angeles Regional on Saturday. Omaha lost their first game of the regional to the No. 1 overall UCLA 5-2. The Mavericks finish their historic season at 31-24-1

Creighton Baseball was down 7-4 heading to the ninth inning with its season on the line Sunday night. But the Bluejays exploded with a seven-run ninth inning to stun Michigan with an 11-7 victory in the Corvallis Regional. Creighton’s dramatic rally forces a winner-take-all rematch against the Wolverines on Monday night at 6:00 p.m. with a trip to the Super Regionals on the line. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN2.

There’s a chance on Monday to get Husker Football season tickets. A limited number of season tickets remain following this month’s Seat Yourself Process. Fans interested in purchasing season tickets may do so at Huskers.com/tickets or by calling 1-800-8-BIG RED. The remaining seats are located in various locations around Memorial Stadium and the majority of them are at lower donation levels, beginning at $150 per seat. The tickets will go on sale at 10:00 a.m.

The Kansas City Royals fell to Texas Sunday 5-1 Sunday. Jorge Soler provided the only run for the Royals when he launched his 15th home run of the year into the seats in the 6th inning. It was a bad offensive weekend for KC, striking out 47 times in the four-game series in Arlington, losing the last three of those games. Kansas City is off Monday before hosting a week of Sox; Red Sox to begin the week then ending with the White Sox. Those Royals games can be heard on The Breeze 94.5.

The NBA Finals are even at a game a piece. Golden State beat the Raptors 109-104 last night in Toronto. Game 3 will be Wednesday night at 8 in California

Game 4 of the Stanley Cup finals are tonight in St. Louis. Boston leads the series 2-1 after a 7-2 win on Saturday. A guaranteed game 5 will be Thursday in Boston.

Kyle Busch won the Pocono 400 yesterday. Brad Keselowski came across the line second followed by Erik Jones, Chase Elliott, and Clint Bowyer. The Firekeepers Casino 400 will be next weekend at Michigan International Speedway.
