Upcoming Events at the Hastings Public Library Feature a Visit From an Author and Building a Teddy Bear

HASTINGS – Author Joy Johnson Brown, author of BOOB Girls or Burned Out Old Broads, will be visiting the Hastings Public Library tomorrow. The event will be happening from 2pm to 3pm at the Library.

Morgan Karel, says they have a little surprise for people who attend.

And we’re really excited to have her come. If you are in attendance, we are doing a giveaway of the first ten books of the series.

The event is free and open to the public. Karel says this event is appropriate for all ages.

And then on September 9th the Library will be doing teddy bear workshop in honor of National Teddy Bear day.

This one is geared more towards children up to 5th grade. Karel says this event will be a lot like build a bear workshop.

What you’re going to do is you’re going to stuff your own bear. You’re going to then fill it with love, we’re going to give you a heart. You’re going to then groom it and brush it and kind of make it look nice. And then you’re going to be able to take a picture with it on our green screen. And then read it your favorite story and then take it home.

The event is free but they do ask that you register for the event in advance because space is limited.

You can register your child for the workshop at HastingsLibrary.us.
