HASTINGS – Zion Lutheran Church and School is having a Fourth of July Celebration tomorrow starting at 6:00 and going until the city fireworks end.
There will be free hot dogs and hamburgers along with a bouncy house and games for the kids, a pavelka band, bingo, and also a demonstration of a remote controlled airplane.
They will be taking free will donations. Ice cream, root beer floats, and brownies will be sold there as well. Free will donations will be accepted also. The money raised from this event will go towards the Parent Teach Union for Zion Lutheran School.
Penny Pratt, the event planner, says that each year this event has grown from its humble beginnings.
At the end of the evening, we provide absolutely the best seats in town to watch the hastings brickyard fireworks show, which is what is the reason that all of this began. People just came to our parking lot to watch the fireworks. Just to come, and we felt that this was a wonderful way to share our god, and to share our wonderful Fourth of July celebration with the whole community.
The event itself is free to attend and open to the public. Zion Lutheran Church and School is located at 465 South Marian Road. They do ask that you leave your personal fireworks at home.
